I love reading about faith. Two great examples are PORTRAIT and GILEAD. For Joyce, Catholicism was an inescapable shadow. For Robinson, faith is luminous and sustaining. In THE SACRAMENTS, Rachel Thomas lives at that same intersection: between ritual and rupture.
