Pizza night. Pretty pleased with these. Lowered the hydration level just a bit and ended up with a nicely crisp crust. Next step is to plan ahead and do a multi-day proof in the fridge instead of same-day room temp proof.

My absolute favorite overly indulgent, completely unnecessary leftover meal is crab cakes eggs Benedict. Hollandaise sauce courtesy of @jonbois.bsky.social and SBNation I don’t know how many years ago

I’ll be honest, for a second I thought this was the MASK toy car I had growing up

It’s later than I would have expected, but we’ve reached peak tomato time at the McGee household (I also think our cherry and heirloom plants cross-pollinated into mostly hybrid golf ball sized tomatoes)

Timeline cleanse of my sleeping puppy sleeping in her cone post-spaying. Poor girl feels better and doesn’t understand why she can’t run and jump around with her big sister in the yard

Our Christmas puppy has already surpassed our 55 lb pandemic pup in size. When she wants on the furniture, she doesn’t jump up, she just steps up into it

This might be the first puzzle I’ve had to do from the middle out since the border is all black

Book 3 is @aklingus.bsky.social beautiful story on love, loss, and grief. Anyone who’s lost someone can relate with the main character and what he goes through to have just another moment again

Book number 2, Station Eleven. I definitely see why this one was up for all the awards when it came out.

Now we’re talking. One of my absolute favorite bands. Sad this is their last album, but I’m happy they’re going out how they want to

Meant to add the picture. Side note, probably cancelling my subscription to VMP shortly. I’ve gotten so much music from them that I never would have otherwise picked up, and it’s been wonderful. Unfortunately, they’re changing their business model in a way that doesn’t keep me interested.

Trying to read more (resolutions and all that) and want to keep a log here. First book of 2025 is North Woods. It was fine. I feel like some of the accolades were driven due to the narrative structure, like Trust from a few years ago. It’s written beautifully, but overall, didn’t do it for me

Finished this build tonight that I got for Christmas. Batman is my favorite and I loved this cartoon growing up. LEGO really got the aesthetic down for Gotham. Tedious at times (so many single pieces for my meaty hands) but it’s a cool cityscape with removable building fronts to see inside
