Jack Smith did the right thing in petitioning to dismiss the charges against Trump so that Trump could not kill the prosecution when he took office. He petitioned to dismiss without prejudice so that however unlikely, charges could be filed again when Trump is no longer president.

As I noted in the Amicus brief I filed before the Supreme Court with 24 other historians, in the Trump disqualification case, not a single person for office was disqualified by an act of Congress under section 3 of the 14th amendment. They were automatically disqualified.

I simply cannot fathom how Elon Musk, an immigrant from South Africa, has decided to disown his heritage by endorsing the embodiment of xenophobia: Donald Trump. It is a betrayal of all immigrants and I am happy I left his hate speech platform that does nothing but spread hate and misinformation.
