Hm, Alfred Stern in "Geschichtsphilosophie und Wertproblem" (1967) zu historischer Erkenntnis hat was von einem kantischen Ankersmit.
Kein schlechter Zufallsfund in einem Antiquariat.

Heute in der längeren Mittagspause gelesen. Sicher, nicht der einzige Text von Sahlins zu Königtum, aber man nimmt, was man kriegt...und der hier ist sehr lesbar.
Interessant sind die ausgebreiteten Gedanken (die sich auch in anderen seiner Publikationen finden lassen) allemal...

Zuglektüre: nach langem mal wieder Militärgeschichte (=Entstehung des Kriegerstands in Japan)...seit der Bachelorzeit nicht mit befasst.
(Im Westen wären dazu ja lediglich Friday und Farris zu haben.)
Doch recht interessant, auch wenn mich aktuell primär das letzte Kapitel inhaltlich interessiert.

Meine Güte, wieso können westliche Designer, die Spiele in Japansettings entwickeln, keine japanischen Namen?
"Hiraizumi Ishida" - also quasi sowas wie "Schwanstein Meyer". Wo ist der Vorname von dem armen Kerl?
(Über Anachronismen mecker ich ja schon gar nicht mehr, das lernen die alle eh nie.)

I never actually read the Masukagami 増鏡 in full. So this is my new *leisure* lecture (well, maybe I can use one sentence or so from it...). It does come with annotations *and* a translation to modern Japanese, makes it more intimidatingly voluminous than it is xD

There is also a recent reworking of Yabumoto’s academic work (Kamakura bakufu "seishi" no kyojitsu) for the more general reader - which is significantly more *affordable*.
