This is what I'm seeing, I had a lot of other angles from the photos I took to make sure of what I was seeing.

Most songbirds have a similar replacement pattern in the first year so you can usually tell with good photos if not just holding them!

taken in January, so functionally all 'adults', but you can tell the first bird was only born last year, because of the state of the primary coverts, which are actually retained juvenile feathers that aren't replaced until next year's molt!

brown enough that it resembles a young feather, but it's a curious replacement pattern. Adult in second photo for comparison. Could also have just grown in like that and overexposed to the sun. Though sort of reminds me of a woodpecker's long, juvenile p10. 3/3

I was able to finally lay eyes on a group of Tufted Titmouse last month, and I noticed one immature bird with p10 noticeably jutting out from the rest of the wing. There aren't a lot of open wing photos of TUTI, but I wonder if this is a retained juvenile feather? It's certainly worn enough and 2/
