Quite thrilling.
Prussian national anthem / God Save the King situation is something I could get behind but that would also kinda be retconning things that could’ve just used a different leitmotif

We are complaining now, next year I don't think people will even have the energy to do that. The new poverty line for a family of 4 is REALISTICALLY at $140.000 - in THIS year. Next year it will be a lot worse, and that's if we do NOT see gallopping inflation. We'll be lucky to survive what's coming

EVERY single thing needed for life is going to explode in cost, while massively decreasing in quality. Health insurance, up 500%. Electricity? Ditto. Natural gas? Boom! Groceries! Child care! EVERYTHING is going to get just unaffordable for almost anyone.

This isn't even "greedflation" any longer, it's jacking prices up everywhere to JUST such an extent that with some additional credit you can JUST SO scrape by on what used to a be decent middle-class income.

And holy mother of all things that's gonna explode next year when All The Things hit.

Meanwhile private equity is conditioning Americans to on average spend $1000-2000 extra on kids a month. Starting with daycare, and now going into school sports, which is all wholly captured and set up for Maximum Extraction, because whatcha gonna do, NOT have daycare / kids do sports? Yeah, pay UP!

This makes perfect sense once you think about it. Similar dynamics played out in Berlin, I remember a large uptick in Russian speaking homeless folks ca. 2012/13 which now that I’m Thinking About It likely had similar reasons.

Right, and especially because if that circumstance, older generations do not believe us or have ANY kind of understanding for our situation. “They make so much money and say it’s not enough. They must be living so wastefully!” That’s where all the avocado toast Starbucks narratives come from I think

The test was feeding an LLM a paragraph of text and asking what document that was from. They never got the correct answer. But DuckDuckGo did (without an "AI summary" which wasn't a thing then). So...

I think one of the biggest issues LLMs have is that they ALWAYS want to provide An Answer even if there is none.

But also they just get things WRONG a lot. I ran a few tests some time ago and concluded a regular search engine was better for my needs since the LLMs kept providing false results.

I mean, for violating visa requirements and ostensibly defrauding the federal government for gaining immigration benefits (aka lying on your visa / naturalization applications) alone. Everyone is supposed to be equal before the law so…

Hmm maybe I’m too deep into cyberpunk, but there’s a lot of 80s and 90s cultural stuff at least in my diet that reflects that. From Blade Runner to They Live to idk, Adventures in Babysitting.

I guess this also has a lot to do with just how much I love Last Jedi and how badly TROS was a refutation of that.

I can’t say it didn’t make me feel anything as I was depressed for a week after seeing it. Still get mad thinking about what a godawful waste of talent, funds, and time this one was. An indelible stain on Star Wars.
