As long as it's money driven we will tend to unoptimised code and since we live in a capitalist world... Just look at any simple app on android store and you download 100MB of crap just to display a gif when you could have a full OS on a floppy disk.
Our only hope is open source.

@matthamlin.me although @kagi.com also provides an AI assistant that can provide you with AI generated summaries of your searches as well as FastGPT and Kagi Smallweb which I'll leave for you to check out!

@matthamlin.me it's definitely a big step above google search in terms of search results, query relevance and lack of ads. However it serves as a traditional search engine in that respect compared to ChatGPT: you'll have to actually visit the webpages themselves instead of an AI-generated summary.
