Heads up, y'all. If you're looking to do some local mutual aid in the OC, stop by IKEA in Costa Mesa on Saturday, July 26th. Whatever essentials you can donate will be directly delivered to families in need. Thanks!

A "healthy" stock market relies on high unemployment and desperate laborers. That's why it's a terrible metric for how well the majority of humans on Earth are doing economically.

[To be clear, by "Democrats" its meant as "Democrat politicians/leadership," not voters who identify as Democrats. Its the voters who have been protesting outside our congress reps' offices, at Tesla offices, at Space X, etc. They're doing the work.]

Insanity. Americans are insane.

People love to point at TFG and say this is when democracy in the U.S. died, but it started with Reagan and his posse. The current circumstances are the "slippery slope" we've been screaming about since 1980.

The Good Place got it. This is what it feels like in the U.S. right now.

While they claim that they are not influenced by their corporate donors, they are still influenced by a system in which we have to rely on corporate philanthropy. They come from a perspective of capitalist realism just as much as the WSJ.

All of the corporate news orgs are controlling & limiting what you hear about & how. They're certainly rarely questioning or challenging the underlying American assumptions of governance & economics. And yes, this includes msnbc, npr, nyt, etc.
