How do I have giant olm bones? Giant olms live in the caverns, and I haven't actually dug down to the caverns yet.

There is a miasma in my duchess's bedroom because she decided to store a prepared meal in her chest and it started to rot. (The miasma is the purple cloud.)

Another new fortress, this one I'm decorating in a rainbow theme. But anyway, I have so many poults (baby turkeys) it's affecting my framerate. Just look at them all!

So I downloaded the latest version and started a new fortress. I chose an embark location that was in the "path of attack," kind of curious what that was. Well...

Strangest dwarf swarm I've seen in a while.
I was wondering why all my dwarves were heading outside my fortress when I told them to bring all the worn handwear to the trade depot.

My bone doctor had Irish sextuplets. She had triplets less than a year ago and just had another set of triplets.

A proper dwarf swarm, now that I have a decent number of citizens:
March 27, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Alas, it seemeth I only got 21 migrants.
My best guess is that becoming the mountainhome fucked me over. At some point I'll have to start a new fortress and make another attempt to break the record for largest migrant wave.
March 22, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Nine more migrants have arrived.
March 22, 2025 at 1:59 PM
Found another asshole who left her husband behind.
March 22, 2025 at 1:57 AM
Somehow only got seven dwarves this time. Up to 108 total.
March 22, 2025 at 1:55 AM
A third one. Seriously, wtf is going on? Are their spouses going to arrive in a subsequent migrant wave?
March 22, 2025 at 1:03 AM
And another one! Jesus Christ.
March 22, 2025 at 12:54 AM
Okay but what the actual fuck is up with this? This is one of my new migrants. She's married.
Her husband isn't actually in my fortress. (If he were there would be a light blue "-O" after his name.)
I didn't think that was even possible. Migrants are supposed to arrive with their spouses.
March 22, 2025 at 12:51 AM
Adding this due to the wtf factor. Like I get that it says the dwarf is installing colony in hive, but also hauling over 16,000 bees at once is ridiculous.
March 22, 2025 at 12:47 AM
Somehow got exactly 23 migrants once again. Up to 101 dwarves total.
March 22, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Anyway this time I'm just going to allow it and see if increasing my fortress wealth between this year and next year brings more migrants next year.
Also I seem to have gotten only eight migrants this time around. I guess I should check if any of them are married?
March 21, 2025 at 8:06 PM
A snip to prove my population before the migrants arrive. I don't know if it'll work the way I hoped. Currently I have 70 dwarves, and it is early spring of the year 100.
March 21, 2025 at 3:06 AM
Two of my dwarves have gotten married. That brings me up to the four married couples I need for sustained population. (Dwarves won't marry their first cousins, but they don't care beyond that.)
March 13, 2025 at 3:05 PM
This dwarf is wearing two gloves and a mitten on her right hand, two gloves on her left hand, and two pairs of braies.
March 12, 2025 at 11:29 AM
And now my recruit is fighting using a figurine. That is not a euphemism. He's literally beating up this wild boar sow with a lead figurine.
March 9, 2025 at 6:26 PM
In this installment, the recruit kicks the wild boar's hoof clean off, then cuts off its head, after which we are informed that an artery has been opened and a tendon in the skull has been torn, which is clearly relevant information after it's had its head cut off.
March 3, 2025 at 8:21 PM
And yet another fight report. In this one, the recruit bites the wild boar in the head, and then shakes the wild boar around by the head, causing significant damage before finally bashing its head in with a mace. I'm pretty sure the physics of that wouldn't actually work, but hey. #DwarfFortress

Another fight report. My favorite is that part at the end, where the steel mace has lodged firmly in the wound.
March 3, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Looks like one of my dwarves has written a book! Here's the description:
