Completely off topic but I just learned that Carrie Fisher demanded a copy of the notorious Star Wars Holiday Special from George Lucas, but the only time she ever put it on was when she wanted people to leave her house. What a fucking legend.

My mother had never forbade me any book I wanted to read, so I grabbed whatever caught my eye to read, and she never stopped me. I can think of a few books where she probably should have, but no harm done in the end.

My parents were readers and from about age 12 onward, we had a library room in our house. It held encyclopedias and all the educational series my mom had ordered for me, but all of their books, from poetry to classics to hard-boiled detective series were there too. 1/

nah, I meant private chat convos, not chat rooms. Works just like DMs at the bird place. I could invite whoever I want to a chat. But if reddit gives you issues, no worries, we can figure out something else.

Most of the journalists I follow there also have accounts here, they just don't post to them. :( I think most of them are using Post as their main secondary.
