A migratory bird. No wait, a plane! No wait—

Mid-40s, American, disabled, tired.
I block for ableism.
Yeah, I recognize him! Stylized, yes, but very obvious Sir Ian

I'm fairly pleased considering this is about 15cm across, on 1/8 sheet of the paper, and I'd expected it to be such a disaster I didn't even square off the scrap I was using. This is raw xuan paper with Winsor & Newton watercolors, painted with a cheap calligraphy brush I got in a set of 12.

Yes, both Kirk brothers are in it.

There are a lot of things I am not so fond of in Strange New Worlds, but where I do feel like they got it right is the general gremlin energy of the Enterprise crew and James Kirk

Kirk: We'll just have to fake my death again. Bones, we'll have you—
Spock: Captain, I would prefer to remain in control of the process this time.
Kirk: But Bones—
Spock: Captain. Please.
[a pause]
Kirk: You have a method that'll work?
Spock: I do.
Kirk: Understood. Gentlemen, we have our plan.

I firmly believe the only tack to center Dems need is in arguments, not policy. In addition, say, to "healthcare is a human right," let's add "employer coverage keeps you stuck in bad jobs; universal healthcare makes it easier to tell your bad boss to stuff it."

In this case those are, clockwise from top, baclofen (migraine prophylaxis), hydroxyzine (anti-anxiety), and famotadine (Pepcid) but I've had sumatriptan (acute migraine rescue), opioids, and even once my Adderall in this same form factor in the past, and those you *do not* want to mix up.

Actually I just don't listen to music much.

it's true that I don't use it but don't worry I don't think I'm cool for that or anything

And actually I still have the "navigating public transit while disabled" nightmares, it's just they're less frequent than the "using a public restroom while disabled" and "attending college while disabled" nightmares now.

It took _two decades_ to quit having nightmares about navigating public transit as a disabled person.

My nightmares about driving are almost universally about trying to navigate a confusing multi-level freeway interchange at sunset, or trying to find the turnoff from a tiny mountain road at night

Having someone who can come with you is a privilege that's not available to everyone, but these days, way more of everyone can afford some sort of discreet audio recording device.

I bring another person with me about 25% of the time, and frequency with which having a witness has *radically* changed how a nurse or doctor treats me is *way* too high. If nurses&doctors knew they *might* be being recorded, maybe they'd be awful to unaccompanied patients way less often.
