Spent an hour today with @v21.bsky.social's "Downpour", an app for making little games on your phone (still in beta). Made one about our cats called "Where's Madeleine?". Perhaps my greatest work? Takes 2-5 minutes depending on how good you are at finding Madeleine.

Ugh why is this website so bad at scrolling. It's even worse than Mastodon.

Lunch: stilton, fig chutney, wholemeal rolls.
Verdict: v.g.

I made a new shirt for bob.

Video with soundtrack: www.youtube.com/shorts/9Ygfs...

Static photo: flic.kr/p/2p2VbZn

Desc: A large bearded white man wearing an awesome shirt made from stained glass Star Wars fabric.

(Doesn’t seem to be a huge overlap between here and Mastodon, hence cross-post.)
new star wars shirt by Kake for me.

Can anyone tell me how to make my posts on here visible to people who don’t have an account, please? I had a look in Settings but can’t find it.

Currently drinking five-years-out-of-date Strongbow with peach syrup (left over from making https://www.deepsouthdish.com/2013/11/spiced-peaches.html). It’s pretty good! Though the black pigment on the outside of the packaging is definitely past its best ability to adhere to the can.

I worked out how to fix this! If I zoom in, then reload the page, the timestamps turn into links. And zooming in also fixes the problem I had where trying to add an image to a reply moves the “Reply” button out of the viewport.
The retweet button is showing up now, but still no way to open a skeet in a new tab. bob says it works on his Firefox!

Top Chef season 20 is baffling. They came all the way to London and then didn’t go to any London food places?

I also can’t work out how to retweet things, so here’s an old-school link to bob’s first skeet which features me! https://bsky.app/profile/rjw1.bsky.social/post/3jz3p2p3gzs27

It turns out an American is sending me a thing via actual FedEx, and FedEx have sent me several emails about it, and I only realised this after I deleted the first few (some? many? who knows), because the only previous emails I’ve received that mention FedEx have been spam.

Finished _Translation State_ and immediately wanted to re-read all the Qven parts. If you enjoy books with found family, really-alien aliens, gender and cultural diversity, and the “Ohhh!” moment of seeing things in a different light, you should give it a go.

Saw a Guardian article on a universal basic income (UBI) trial in north London and Tyneside, which got me quite excited; but looking at the website of the organisation involved, it seems to be still at the proposal stage and not yet funded: https://autonomy.work/portfolio/basic-income-big-local/

Traditionally my first post on a new social media thing is about food, so here’s my recommendation for an excellent dip for samosas, spring rolls, etc: mix equal quantities of mango chutney and tomato ketchup. I got this from Laughing All The Way To The Mosque by Zarqa Nawaz, which I also recommend.
