and they're also no indicator of aventurine being a VILLAIN (NOT saying hes a saint either hes NOT). its simply how he does things and always has, and is also something deeply entrenched in avgin culture

his goal is also literally to make his parents and sister proud of him when they reunite in the afterlife. he has never lost himself or become a "villain". I'd also like to add that his gambles and his trickery and schemes are something he followed since he was a small child

where he was forced to betray himself and act against his values. this is something he truly does not want, and even considers a weakness
its interesting go me that he deflects and instead points to the things he's able to do that are in line with himself (his gambles)

a little bit on why its nice aventurine is a Preservation character despite also having ties to nihility, elation and even destruction to an extent:

I really would like to know how the cn version for this dialogue goes because its always been one to make me scratch my head in confusion about the specific implications of it. my interpretation is that despite all the tragedy, he never stopped wanting to be the++

one of my favorite things about aventurines character is how at his core he Wants to be a morally upstanding person and he holds his faith and teachings from his religion very close to his heart but he is in a constant struggle to reconcile his morals with the things he must do
