The annual days of Cluster 5b and Cluster 7 of @biblissima.bsky.social
are in full swing in the beautiful Sète. Today we managed to successfully automatically align the Old Norse, French, and Latin versions of Physiologus and have a walk on the beach. ❤️ Life is good!

Who doesn’t love reading feedback from grant applications’ evaluators that contradict each other? How the same project can be deemed very feasible and clearly planned and at the same time not sufficiently planned to judge its feasibility. 🤦♀️

I realized recently that in 10 years of teaching I don't think I've ever asked students to pay for a textbook for a class -- largely due to these excellent draft chapters of Jurafsky & Martin.
Now that school is starting for lots of folks, it's time for a new release of Speech and Language Processing! Jim and I added all sorts of material for the August 2025 release! With slides to match! Check it out here: web.stanford.edu/~jurafsky/sl...

For screen readers to recognize headings, heading text can't just be body text or normal text that's been made to look bigger and bolder. It must be formatted as a heading. In Microsoft Word and Google Docs, this can be done in the styles box. In HTML, use the tags h1 through h6.

So our open access edited volume was used as training data for generative AI? Great, maybe it will push the material philological understandings of Old Norse literature into main stream.
