A note to anybody scared by AI 2027: Please, please, please do not feel embarrassed or ashamed. These people knew exactly what they were doing, and wrote with a level of authority —-- and with enough respectable-seeming accolades —-- that it's reasonable for a non-technical person to have taken this as gospel. I want you to read this and understand how these grifters manipulate people, and I want you to tell everybody you know who they are, and why AI 2027 fucking sucks. I hate these people. They've scared people I love and respect, all to make an AI research group money. AI 2027's goal wasn't to actually predict anything or prove anything, but to scare people, to make people think that AI can or will do something it cannot and will not ever do, and to make people give up and assume that Large Language Models would inevitably prevail. AI 2027 is written by a bunch of guys with no real engineering or financial experience. It is built to scare and manipulate you. It succeeded, but that only shows that the people writing it were loathsome and intentional in causing you to panic. In January 2027, I am going to write an entire piece about AI boosters, and I've been collecting detailed receipts - some might even call them "detailed notes" - for years. I find these people repulsive.
