🧵 Today is the first time since 2004 that I'm not beginning National Novel Writing Month. I had a feeling things were bad when I looked at their fundraising goals last year, but I thought they would scale back, not nuke the entire event and the entire website.

More than seven months after she nearly died from a vaccine reaction, Cashew is officially medication-free as of this week. She's still blind as hell, runs into everything, and her fur appears to be going back to its darker color. She's our little fighter <3

#BallerinaMovie takes time to find its footing in the 1st act (show don't tell is all over the place), but takes off once the pieces are in place. Eve is a badass; the right amount of #JohnWick, unique/well-executed action scenes, and excellent use of unconventional weapons. Good, but not great.

#LiloAndStitch is an odd #Disney live-action remake. In some ways, it feels very close to the original, but in some very essential ways & especially in the 3rd act, the writers made a lot of changes, some of which suck a lot of the tension & emotion out of what should be an emotionally charged film.

I'll treasure the time and friends I made through this event, though, and continue my journey as a writer. One day, I'll have the confidence to send out a manuscript to an agent and remember where and what things were important on my creative journey.

I have red toes💅 and a lot to say about the back half of #DaredevilBornAgain. All I'll say is that the last time I got weeks to marinate on a superhero movie, I hated it even more by the time I could actually talk about it. Hope everyone enjoyed the first 2 episodes; they rule.

Marvel TV has become my go-to "I'm giving myself a mani-pedi" shows, and I feel like that statement is going to piss some people off. Anyway, the first four episodes of #DaredevilBornAgain are pretty damn good, and my nails look great. Tomorrow, more episodes and a pedicure.

The only #Oscar worthy thing about the production design of #Wicked was how they managed to make a film that utilized primarily practical sets look fake as hell. That train is real, looks fake, and I hate it. I had someone look at me like I was lying when I told them it was real. #Oscars2025
