Ever since getting this necklace, I have connected with so many other Arabs. As a white-passing Arab, it's hard for me to make connections with people who share my heritage, because I don't "look" Arab. This small thing has opened so many conversations, which leads to understanding, and I love that.

My 20 year high school reunion was tonight, and I was actually really looking forward to going. I've been looking forward to it for months.
The event was made on Facebook, and it said 8-11 PM.
Apparently, it actually started at 5 and ends in 20 minutes and I fucking missed it.

Hi, so, my book isn't technically fantasy... but fantasy-adjacent, since "pirates in a made-up version of history" doesn't have a shelf. 😂

Hi, sorry I've been quiet. I am happy to report that Binx has made a full recovery. What started as heat stroke turned into a severe adverse reaction to the anti-nausea medication the vet gave him.
In the end it cost me about $5k total, which HURT... but he is home and he is healthy!

Binx is up and about. He is my shadow at the moment, and has eaten half a can of tuna so far. I suspect it'll be a few days before he feels totally back to normal again, but I'm happy to see him on the rebound after a scary week.

My poor baby Binx is so sick. He's so, so sick. The heatwave hit him hard, and even after an overnight at the emergency vet, he is so incredibly sick. 😭
Please send him well wishes and healing thoughts. I hate seeing him suffer like this. He just keeps crying, and it's destroying me.

It not only pulled me from a bad depression after I lost my son, but inspired me to write my book, which landed a six-figure deal with Simon & Schuster and comes out in just one year!

Last summer, I was in so much pain, I could barely walk. I got very little done in the gardens because of it.
This year, my pain is finally being managed. It's not gone by any means, but I can at least function. And with my 14 year old nephew's help, I've managed to get back into gardening.
