Reading Unprocessed People made me realise a thing or two about the modern food production system. It shed light on some of the ingredients that I didn’t understand-like emulsifiers and gums. The added stuff is bad, but even worse is the engineered consistency and palatability of these products. 4/4

As soon as I took a bite, the simple flavors combined into a homogeneous paste. I am a lover of pastries and sweets, but after taking a break I don’t crave it as much anymore. To my surprise, I didn’t enjoy any of it now. As I was munching on my cookies I longed for anything fresh and real. 3/🧵

A coincidence – on the flight, I finished the audiobook Ultra-Processed People by Van Tulleken. It was a book I generally liked, apart from a few exceptions. The book made it all feel more real. As I was eating my “dinner,” I noticed how the food melted in my mouth. 2/🧵

I actually went back to Tumblr and I have enjoyed it more than any social media platform in a LONG time. I depend on IG for sharing my art though… I would like to find an alternative. I hope BSky’s Flashes will deliver?
