I Can Be Your Angle Or Yuor Devil
(my attempt at Low Angle Frieren)
Frieren Low Angle artwork and notes by Kailani. Image shows three stages of a character portrait with the following notes: ① CORE FORM I like to gradually build anatomy using geometric shapes while also marking placement references for important features such as the eyes, center spaces, pose directions, and any other reference ratios or notes according to the specific character. ② MESSY SKETCHES Everyone's process is different, but I might go through 2-5 iterations of rough drawings until I'm satisfied with the lines. I treat this stage very experimentally; I like using this step to try ideas without feeling fully committed to the line work. Reference images help out a lot! ③ REFINEMENT I like creating visual hierarchy via line colors and weights. I tend to use thinner lines or lighter line colors for finer details that I want to draw less attention to and thicker or darker contour lines to emphasize distinctions between materials or forms.
