They do! Corroded? Hmmm...how corroded is it?
Maybe you can do the cleaning method of rubbing alcohol on one end of a q-tip to rub the chip area of the memory card slot (maybe also the memory cards themselves to be safe) and then take the dry end of the q-tip and dry it off.
