ultra-fan to write for an IP, like some Star Wars fans I can think of.

But someone who isn't at least neutral to it? I swear to gods this is why so much entertainment just flat out sucks these days.

I'd watch more TV if there were anything I deemed worth watching. (I'm persnickety.)

Exactly this. I can absolutely tell when the people writing it loved whatever they were working on.

I had a contact in Hollyweird writing circles, and apparently, it's so very common for show writers to either not know or absolutely hate the IP material.

I can see why someone wouldn't want an

It doesn't have to be that triple A game they use fucking AI with. (Stares at EA.)

There's so much good stuff in the indie realms. Dip a toe in. You can still keep your traditional favs.

gram used to say. Fucking kick me.

A creative without our fans is *nothing*.

A show without people to watch it is nothing. No matter how much money you throw at it.

Another thing I've said before. Your dollar. Your precious time. You get to choose what you enjoy for entertainment. And it doesn't

Without my readers? My fans? I'm nothing.

I'm a weirdo telling myself stories in the dark in a coffee stained t-shirt I've cut the neck and arms off of.

Said it before, probably will again, I ever actually succeed at this writing thing, and I 'get too big for my britches' as my

work for Witcher.

What I grieved most is that it could've been so good.

You really would think these dumbass corporations like Netflix would *listen* to fans, wouldn't you?

Just like you'd think big name authors would treat their fans well. (Stares at GRRM.)

Cause, I'm an author. I know what

He's an incredibly complicated, deep character, and Cavill embodied that.

I can't see anything at all similar in the stuff I just watched, trailer wise, in Liam's portrayal.

Criminey. Replacing the actor *rarely* works. It didn’t even back in the '80s on soap operas.

And it was never going to

And that's where we're at with Witcher.

Geralt is a tortured soul, he's got chronic pain from all the scars, he's always alone except for his horse (who they fucking KILLED IN S2.)

The horse? Really? That's like... do not do this writer 101.

I'm not watching s4. I legit don't give a shit. I did my grieving already.

I just shake my head sadly now. Netflix *had it*. They *had* the winning formula, so we'd *finally* get an excellent game to film adaptation. (There might be others, but I'm blanking on titles. They're usually absolutely

ignored and blown off *sucks*.

Seriously. Imagine my (and the mythical Kassandra's) position.

We know, with very little doubt, what's going to happen. And no one listens.

It rather feels like screaming into the void, hoping it screams back.

It's rather an awful situation, TBH.
October 31, 2025 at 6:08 PM
for me, personally, of having *yet again* told someone what was gonna happen and being ignored...

I heavily empathize with the myth of Kassandra. Telling people what's going to happen (because I'm good at pattern recognition, forensic psych, and research, not cursed by a god 🤣) and being utterly

The break up was amicable & they're still friends.)

Just the fact that someone started those rumours to make Cavill look bad to distract from the outrage of him walking is grotesque.

(Always willing to change my opinion with actual proof. But you have to actually prove it.)

It's just a situation

something I'm very *very* good at.)

Cavill did date a 19 year old (tennis player, I think?). He was 36. Definite age gap, but from everything I can find, she pursued him. There was never a pregnancy. She ended it because she didn't enjoy the attention dating a celebrity came with.

WAS inevitable, and I said so years ago in my thread on the bad place (Xitter).

Yes, I'm aware of the rumours spread (likely by Hissrich) about Cavill having had relations with a minor.

I researched the fuck out of that because I refuse to support awful people. I can't find a thing. (Research is

I honestly don't think anyone could fill Cavill's shoes for that role.

Which does suck for Liam. I believe I read that he was second choice for the role and is a huge fan of Witcher.

It's really not his fault, so I hope the inevitable implosion of S4 doesn't hurt his career too badly.

Because it
October 31, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Yeah. There's no soul to it.

They put a lot of money into it, but sadly, Liam isn't the right choice for Geralt. It's sad because I do appreciate some of Liam's acting (Land of Bad, if you haven't seen it and like war/violent movies with well developed characters you really care for, watch it.)

via Twitter about the poor disability rep. I highly doubt someone as chronically online as she seemed to be then didn't see my thread because I made sure to tag her.

I flat out told her letting Cavill walk was a mistake because of how he played Geralt.

From what I've seen of the trailer?

expect one type of entertainment medium to exactly reproduce the material from another medium, especially books to tv/movie.

Anyway. I actually told the showrunner, Hissrich, (unless she's been deservedly sacked) that this exact thing was going to happen when Cavill walked.

She talked with me

reportedly hated the source material. (Which blows my fucking mind. And it's apparently really common in Hollyweird for the writers to hate the source material. Do they think we can't tell?)

There were some licensing issues. So I never expected it to be exactly like the games.

IMO it's silly to
