121. Drive

A gorgeous film with a great vibe and soundtrack that unfortunately doesn't really mask the general void of character writing. Beautiful and hollow, this was cool to watch and listen to, but I'd be lying if I said it made me feel much of anything deeper than surface-level.

120. To Be Hero X

A really compelling, striking and exciting ensemble story structured in such a way that, while not every arc is equal, makes seeing everything come together one of the most satisfying things I've seen all year.

119. Cabin Fever

This feels like someone was dared to make the most tongue-in-cheek horror parody ever made, but when the director found the script, he thought it was serious and directed it as such, much to the despair of all.

If you see this, post an album cover with a motor vehicle on it.

118. Saya no Uta ~ The Song of Saya

Never would have thought that a romance could be so sickeningly terrifying.

117. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc

Chainsaw Man in motion is Chainsaw Man at its best. Phenomenal acting, direction, animation and music elevating the source material to incredible heights. I'm not 100% sold on this new style for the anime, but 94% sold is still pretty good.

Doing a quick replay of SIGNALIS to get footage, and playing through the second Penrose sequence again is the closest I've ever come to a real life Ryan Gosling moment.

116. The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2

God is dead. The world has fallen into discord. That which was once pure is now vile. Only one truth remains: Rentarō Aijō must be worshipped at all costs. I beg for mercy.

115. The Summer Hikaru Died

A captivatingly produced, performed and written work of queer horror that leverages all its qualities to create an experience that is as compelling as it is concerning.

114. From Dusk Till Dawn

A pulpy film that doesn’t horrify as much as it does amuse, and while it embodies some of its creator's worst excesses (to the point some scenes are a chore to sit through), as long as you don't take it seriously, you'll probably have an entertaining enough time.

113. Fancy That

Early 2000s skater chick aesthetics with a modern girlypop sheen. Takes skill to make me nostalgia for a time I was barely there for, and it turns out that PinkPantheress has got plenty of it.

112. Dangerous Summer

More like dangerous autumn right now. Still, a decent collection of tracks; not the most memorable overall, but there are some good standouts, and Yeat's performance, if nothing else, is usually more entertaining than not.

Decided on my horror game for October.

This should be interesting.

It's Okay to Hate Hurt People

A look at a couple of different characters to explain that empathy doesn't always need to equal excuse.

111. PIANOUTA

Though this doesn't feel like the most essential or original work and I don't think SennaRin works on every single track, the arrangements here are, on the whole, pleasant to listen to, and in its best moments, the two artists do synergise well.

110. Devil May Cry: The Animated Series

Far from a perfect action show, but as an adaptation of the early DMC games, it's pretty damn flawless. Definitely isn't the most polished, but the vibes carry hard, and sometimes that's enough to carry something over the finish line.

108. I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU (DIRECTORS CUT)

Pink Tape walked so this could run. Not my favourite Peggy project, but definitely a landmark in the discography of my favourite left-wing hypocrite.

107. Face/Off

An absurd, ridiculous thing that truly only could have been made in the 90s. Far from special, but it's truly the performances that turn this from slop trashy to slop gold.

105. The Glassworker

A cultural achievement that definitely wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but even if it could be called a little derivative, there's an earnesty, passion and love present in every frame that I really do adore. Made by artists for sure.
