I had watched it on TV as a kid (dubbed), rented it on dvd and bought it on blu, thinking „it must click with me now“ yet never happened and true Eleanor was always one major point of annoyance

Yeah Ortolani is the master of putting beautiful music to horrible imagery. F.e. Florinda Bolkan‘s final moment in Fulci‘s duckling kills me every time.

I avoided watching it after I read about the nasty stuff in it, but when I heard the beautiful soundtrack I had to watch the film - and did not regret (course still nasty af)

Yeah it‘s just the more beautiful language - plus languages one speaks of course more quickly one spots the mismatches in dubbing.

You know there‘s no original audio in gialli, right? (I bet you do)
And i‘d recommend the german dub because they paid attention to give smaller characters austrian and bavarian accents, paying attention to where it takes place.

Worst of all: it‘s just way more dull that I remembered - found that out about 2 weeks ago. The sequel is fun though

Sicher interessant, da sie sehr überschneidende Zielgruppen haben. Ich vermute, dass am Ende einer wird noch wieder verschoben wird
