Proud Scot living in France and trying hard to learn the lingo!
Took advantage of the good weather to do a few jobs in the garden this afternoon. Planted a Feijoa tree beside our other fruit trees and planted 4 olives trees that had been in large pots in our wee olive grove ( I think we now have 13 trees in it). Then it was a well deserved rest!!! 😅

After 6+ years here permanently we decided to have a ‘real’ holiday. Had a fantastic 3 weeks in Canada. Montreal, Canmore, Jasper and Vancouver. Such a great experience - the Rockies were breathtakingly beautiful! 😃🇨🇦

Quiet night in - well out actually. One of the many advantages of living here is being able to have an outdoor kitchen/dining area. Love it💕

Some advice: when you buy a house and say, “ great, it doesn’t need anything done to it”, listen to that inner voice saying, “Yeah right!” Been sanding the dark varnish off the internal doors and painting them. This one had some beetle damage so I decided to make a feature of it! 🪲 🤣 💕

Got this table free from a lovely lady who was moving back to the UK. Used it in a production of Flanagan’s Wake and now I’m doing some work on it before putting it into my cabin😃

Just had the most amazing night with friends in Glasgow. Fabulous meal at The Buttery followed by Snow Patrol concert. What a fantastic concert - set list was perfect! Can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I first saw them in Glasgow (Hogmanay, George Square).

‘Co-producing’ a play with a friend - which basically means doing everything that’s not directing or acting🤣 Anyway it’s set in an Irish pub so we’re busy searching for props. I found 8 chairs which were being given away. Sanded &oiled, and seats recovered. I think they look fab! Only 6 more to do!!

Had a fantastic night in Bordeaux with good friends. Went to John Williams concert - Schindler’s List was utterly beautiful! Then went to Bassins des Lumières before having a lovely lunch. Were all officially cultured 🤣

Feeling a bit tired tonight but really happy with what we’ve achieved today. Flooring laid and most of the wall panels installed. The snug is coming along nicely😃

Finished boarding and sealing the ceiling of the snug so went out for a lovely walk with hubby. So good to be out in the fresh air 😃

This post will definitely not win most exciting post of the day but I am so happy with our achievement today. New ‘snug’ room insulated ceiling plasterboards cut and put up! We are DIY novices so it was very satisfying. We’ll finish the last board with cable for light fitting tomorrow. 😅

Had a delicious lunch at Ja’ayl in Pont des Sables this afternoon. Delicious food and a great ambiance. Owners are so friendly and welcoming. Will be returning - well hubby now needs to try it!😜😋
