Don't preorder, and especially don't preorder premium edition shit.

I don't even know what I expected. I've always said not to buy these overly expensive editions. I knew the risk I took. I trusted Doom to give me a good time, but I cant even PLAY the damn game to know. I made an exception for Doom.

I'm so glad I paid for the Premium Edition of the game for early access, and it doesn't work. Updated drivers, updated Windows, redownloaded, verfied game files, nothing. It just refuses to stabilize

I'll throw my hat in the ring here and recommend something mainstream like Ubuntu or something Ubuntu based. I've been using Pop!OS for the last year and it's been smooth sailing for everything you've mentioned. Only ever touched the Terminal once for something niche.
