Finally got around to painting a new phone cover. Started with #watercolor pencils, then back to my usual palette. Think I'm still too hesitant with keeping the colors as vibrant as I'd like. I end up watering things down too much and feels more muted than I planned, but still happy with result.

Grandson's birthday next month. He loves cats, so I painted this #watercolor that will be made into the card we'll be giving him.

Prolly not the smartest move starting up a new #watercolor sketchbook, with so many still not complete, but eh. I definitely need the practice with these kinds of building sketches/washes. Here's hoping I fill in the rest of the pages....eventually. XD

When it feels like humanity as a whole is regressing, occasional sharing of my inconsequential artwork seems silly. It can never fix all the wrongs in the world, but maybe it can bring a speck of brightness to an otherwise dark day.

Have taken up the habit of painting inserts/covers for my phone. I just sandwich the trimmed #watercolor paper beneath a clear phone case. This old, vine covered tower was my first attempt. Used Googled images as inspiration.

Close-up of recent holiday card (my fave of the bunch), specifically for my grandson (+ my son and his wife). I used AI to generate a reference image of a #penguin in style I was aiming for, then painted my version of it with #watercolor and a smattering of white gel pen.

Son was married back in October and I painted this cake for the happy couple as a keepsake. It was based on some googled images. Floral stuff is out of my wheelhouse. #watercolor

The past few years I have painted my own holiday cards. Typically I pick one image/inspiration and paint multiple cards of same thing. This past holiday, I could not make up my mind, so I did a little bit of this and that with the help of various youtube tutorials and Googled reference images.

Earnestly watercoloring since 2020. I paint when the mood strikes, usually with no rhyme or reason to my chosen subjects, techniques used, etc. I hope my doodles help to inspire others. :)
