I won’t quote reply - this is a virologist who is rightfully upset - but this is an EXCELLENT example of the kind of messaging that shuts people down and encourages hopelessness rather than action. I am begging us to learn to inform the public of bad things without saying “we’re doomed”

I bought some fun books about the Ukrainian language this week, and they arrived today! The 1st is about the history of the development of Ukrainian as a language, and the 2nd is about its phonetics. I’m SO excited, and I’ve already read the foreword and part of the 1st chapter of the history book

I'm looking at shifting to a service to manage my business mail virtually and avoid having to be registered for everything under my home address, and this is the example of what the virtual inbox looks like...I had a good chuckle at the names

My Ukrainian ya books are full of annotations by this point but I actually think they look pretty cool? If I eventually get more fluent and want to reread them I guess I’ll have to buy new copies, but this helps my language learning SO much
