DCS World Mirage F1EE in VR is pretty fun, too bad i’m shit at flying it and can’t get any kills except when somehow my opponent is worse than me (or it’s a friendly)

still need to get more paint for more coats of the head and then some cleaning up of it but i added a back section to the head for mounting of the ears and general comfort. Still working on the ears and i’m not quite happy enough with them to commit to printing.

first coat makes it a lot less scary. need to get more spray primer and i’ll probably then sand it down and stuff until im happy enough with it but im just trying to clean it up a little nothing insane, just needs to look okay.

this is why my suits have such good visibility btw, the fursuit iris is right where the human eye is so no huge center blindspot like a lot of other fursuits. Nose can block a little bit but the bridge of the nose and between the eyes doesn’t. It feels natural on the head.

mannequin head is done, the other two parts will probably be done by early tomorrow morning. then i’m gonna glue them together and spray paint the whole thing with a primer thingy to help hide the layer lines and make it not superhot-esq

walls to be a few mm tall (about 7-10mm) and then add fillets/chamfers as needed.
for this one, the main eye surface is 1.5mm thick and the walls are also 1.5mm thick. walls are 8mm tall.
but yeah this leads to a perfect fit since it’s just the other puzzle piece but with nicer geometry.

Head with eye blanks. Gonna work on ears next i think but not sure on how im attaching them quite yet. Part of me still has to figure out if im doing a headband or a buckethead-ish thingy or both or something else entirely. Progress might slow down for a bit.

TPU headbase is printed, might print a rear segment as well but i’m still feeling it out rn, that might happen next week after some measurements either way it feels great so far! might print eye blanks soon too. That’ll be done in PETG of course.
