Yeah, except her franchise is being adapted into a new TV show in 2027. It's not like HP or its author is completely irrelevant now. Dismissing Harry Potter as 'from 20 years ago' is pretty foolish, since it's definitely still present in pop culture

Yeah, we probably both have better things to be doing. But I won't counter that example by pointing out that country's don't seem to ever achieve an inflation rate of 0%. A small level of inflation is a desirable goal for many economists

You know, just saying "this is arbitrary and meaningless" because you don't understand it doesn't actually substitute your belief for fact. Traditional dictionaries did often include sex as a defining characteristic of gender, but that's because the prevailing societal understanding they were made

So... Not only is this the 5th edition of a modern dictionary (and its primary definitions are about grammatical gender), the third definition airs on the side of "gender is sex". Which... does not allow for the notion of transition. Do you support trans rights? What do you even believe in???

Well, that's great, but... phrasing? When it aligns with what you want, it's "true consensus", but when it disagrees with you it's "people who believe the same as you". It seems as if you're not actually acknowledging what I'm saying

Why don't you define gender then. If we've been talking about society, expectations, the ways we view ourselves versus how society places us in a predetermined role, and how that affects how we act and how we perceive ourselves, but you've been viewing gender as, like, prion score or something I stg

Transgressing the gender binary has always been a part of the community. I mean, even when a lot of the forward facing activists were still very binary-minded, historical celebrations of queerness have always, at the very least, been about resisting gender expectations defined by sex
