So our national proof of work infrastructure will be our antlers – the whole world will be able to see them online and on the ground, and will know what they’ll get if they start a cyberwar with us.

It’s nice that Bitcoin is growing as a financial asset. Now let’s using it as a cybersecurity asset.

Proof of work infrastructure uniquely ties the digital realm, where everything is imaginary, to the physical realm, where physical power matters. America has the power grid to fuel proof of work facilities, and the police/military power to defend them.

Jason Lowery argues in Softwar (find it… somewhere…) that as more of the world’s social infrastructure moves online, the future of warfare will too. Jason’s idea (tldr) is to protect our national cyber assets with proof of work mining facilities.

2. Proof of work cybersecurity – Bitcoin is going mainstream and that’s great. But Bitcoin is only one application of its powerful underlying proof of work consensus mechanism. Bitcoin may be a key piece of our financial future, but proof of work is key to our national cybersecurity future.

We need to defend America’s status as the world’s home for innovation and entrepreneurship in an essential technology like crypto. Get the talent over here; keep the talent over here.

More builder visas.

I’ve spoken with people in the crypto industry who’ve wasted huge amounts of time and energy on immigration issues either coming to, or staying in, the US. We want and need these people learning and working and building in America – not Bangalore or Zug or Singapore or Kiev or Buenos Aires.

Dominating crypto (and I would bet AI too) doesn’t start with coins or chains or SEC regulations; it starts with builders – engineers and entrepreneurs who innovate and build the businesses to foster their innovations. They are the talent. Many of them are home grown in the US but many are not.

3. Game plan your strategic reserve deployment. BTC is currently highly correlated with the S&P 500. If macro conditions get bumpy, BTC will prob go down with everything else.

So... when exactly do you plan on tapping this strategic reserve?

2. Only invest what you can afford to lose. I own Bitcoin and I believe in it. But it’s a speculative investment. We may think it will win, but we could be wrong. And even if we're not – winter is coming.

How will you feel when your "strategic reserve" loses 60%+ of its value in 2-3 months?

1. "Why" matters. Don't tell me "number go up." If you don't know what proof of work is or why it matters, don't buy Bitcoin, and definitely don't buy it with other people's tax dollars.

Why do you want to buy Bitcoin?
