Pro tip: if you rent a car in NZ make sure the place you’re staying at doesn’t have the narrowest parking garage in the world where it’s impossible to maneuver without scraping the side of the car door. (I’m looking at you, Quest on Eden Crescent in Auckland!)

Photos from geology trip last weekend. Basically a lot of x-post from twitter. tl;dr these are rocks from the Belt Supergroup, layers of sedimentation from a shallow basin sea from about 1.4 billion years ago. Fun stuff to break apart. Took a few samples home.
