Obviously WST tournaments are pretty much open to all professionals, or open for them to qualify for.
The naming convention is pretty poor in WST - too many ‘masters’.
Championships CAN be open events too - the world championships are open to professionals (amatuers can also qualify and play).

Follow the tennis system, perhaps badminton too, tiered ranking events; majors, 1000 series, 750 etc.
Players have to play in certain comps but only so many actually count towards ranking points.
That way players need (for ranking purposes) have to play certain events and enough counting events.
