My kid (10) came to my class yesterday. We talked about history of domestic technologies and electrifying the home. He asked tons of good questions (and answered some!!), and took notes. He’s a doodler.

Once all 16 weeks have research and writing plans in them to move projects forward, I can plan each week accordingly. I put everything in the schedule-prep time, meetings, lunch, kid activities, and I’m very specific about which projects I’ll work on at any given time

But in a future week, I know I have travel, students have things due, we have visitors, that sort of thing. I can’t do AS MUCH research but I can plan some.

Then, I make my general weekly schedule, using my admin calendar and my syllabi, I add that in so I can realistically know what I can accomplish in a week. So, week 1, with few meetings, it looks like this

The semester is about to start so I’ve done my semester project plan. This helps me to stay on task and moving forward with my research projects. I have 2 main existing projects + 2 that will soon exist. So, first I make a plan of all the steps—with tentative deadlines throughout. I get detailed.
