Here's some queer joy for your timeline today. My wife and I got married on 1/11 -- this is us just moments after tying the knot and signing the paperwork! I am so lucky to have found this wonderful human with whom to live my days.

This was what the path looked like after the HOA decided that it was unsafe because they didn't want "outsiders" to walk into our neighborhood from the park. It was boarded up like this for years!

It took almost three years of organizing with my former neighbors but we got this path to the community park reopened and made even safer and more accessible (after the HOA closed it without any community input)!!! What a gift for the new year!

These two photos I took at the local cemetery in 2024 are a perfect example of the abandonment and profiteering that characterizes our covid-19 response in the US, especially this year. Replacing the "visitors must wear a mask" sign with a sign boasting "discount graves for veterans" is diabolical.

Things have been hard lately but there are bright spots of real joy, like doing paperwork at the municipal clerk's office with my beloved.

I am so lucky to be able to fill out a marriage license with Cass: to spell my name and confirm my age and hear her do the same, my friend as witness!

Still enjoying the lovely #ArtAdventCalendar pieces showing up on my timeline. Here's my Day 16 submission: Asbury Sunset, a beanie I made for a friend in chunky yarn. Should I add a pompom?

It's been a rainy day 11 of #ArtAdventCalendar but I received a kind email just this morning about a hat I made for a fundraiser auction. I am so glad to know this hat is out in the world giving warmth and being loved.

The Blue (2023) is a textured hat made from worsted wool, sized for an adult.

It's already Day 10 of #ArtAdventCalendar and the way my timeline has just been blooming with beauty is a balm for my soul.

Here's today's entry, a close-up of La vache (2016), pinned out and drying. This triangular shawl is 6' long, 3' deep, and made from a wool, silk, and yak yarn.

There are few things better than an oversized wool knit. Pan, god of the wild (2017) is made almost entirely from scrap yarn in sock weight held double, with two different color strands throughout. It's 8.5 feet long, over 2 feet deep, and is very cozy. My Day 8 entry for #ArtAdventCalendar.

all woodsmen want a seat at the table (2023) was an opportunity to play with color, texture, and drape. I combined a rustic wool/silk worsted gradient yarn with a pure cashmere border in aran weight. It has a generous 64" wingspan with a 28" depth. One of my favorites for #ArtAdventCalendar day 6.

I needed a breather and the #ArtAdventCalendar gave me the calm I needed today. Here's my Day 5 addition: the Veronica Lodge Tee (2020). It's made from a variety of sock yarns (wool with a bit of nylon) and used about 700 yards of yarn. I wear it with the "V" in back.

My timeline is full of art thanks to #ArtAdventCalendar and here is my day four share: I designed these Twilight Convertible Mitts (2020) for a friend, after Bella's gloves from the esteemed film franchise. Made from 100% worsted weight wool, held double.

Happy #artAdventCalendar day 3! Today I'm sharing my Spike Tile Blanket (2021) with you, a 75" diameter blanket made from a variety of wools that I collected during a trip to Portugal. I started this piece on my first day of quarantine in 2020, and finished it on the day I got the vaccine in 2021.

Day two of #artAdventCalendar is going strong. Here's my entry: a Baby Cupcake Sprinkle hat, made for a friend's little one. It's a brioche knit made of 100% wool in dk weight and sock weight held double. Baby-sized.

I love December because it's #artAdventCalendar month, and this year I'm participating!

This is my first shawl design, Internet Imaginaries (2024). It's full of transatlantic cables, slipped stitch switches, mesh network lace, and crossed wires. It's a half-pi wrap, 64x26, in wool/nylon sock yarn.

People seem to equate using zoom with covid, which they've collectively decided is "in the past." Now our present and future are being entirely reimagined as necessitating in-person interactions. Very interesting to watch us build this reality when the future we were waiting for was already here.
