If we want better fashion culture in the US, we have to lower the cost of housing and commercial real estate, support independent craftspeople, build denser neighborhoods, improve walkability, and get rid of overly restrictive zoning laws. Let kook culture thrive.

Those people riding safely on bikes would have otherwise been in cars making traffic even worse. They were saving public money, reducing pollution & emissions, supporting affordability & public health, reducing noise, helping businesses, and saving a lot of space for a better city for everyone.

It is brutal but people learn to adapt. I recall needing a trip in January or February to see the sun. Then again in April 😜. Summer is epic because it rarely rains and daylight lasts so long. I recall being ready for rain season in fall because the summers were so busy.

What an incredible city. I feel like it would take a decade or more to truly know it. You’re very lucky.
