I can't even be surprised by these announcements.

I should be dead a couple times over. I wasn't protected and now I'm quite broken. Diagnosed w/ PTSD at only 3 & it got worse from there. I do remember the moment when something snapped in me, and made me into a fighter. I get called angry & crazy a lot, titles forced on me that became my armor.

1/3 definitely feels closer to the actual numbers

Men never seem to know "men like this" but absolutely every woman I've known or talked with has encountered and had to endure, at the minimum, one. Myself, however, and most I've known, deal with multiple and it often begins when we are young.

I tried to watch it again, because childhood nostalgia, and It shouldn't be this funny. It's so bad. I clearly had no standards as a child 😆. Now I couldn't make it past the first episode. The low budget stuff wouldn't have been an issue if the characters and dialogue wasn't so bad.

I try to make this point every time I see someone say something along the lines of "we are living in the handmaid's tale". I don't think it's out of malice but it's always worth mentioning that this has been a reality. I don't usually get a response, I get it, it's not comfortable but it's truth.

I love the cover and the title sounds like some d&d hijinks 😆 Sounds amazing

She said everything she wrote about in that book has already happened. The biggest difference is that it isn't just bipoc women who are affected.

This was a required reading for us in high school. It's a book that has stuck with me for the rest of my life.
