Manor Solomon out too! Obviously lots going on with that one in isolation, but it’s one more data point I guess.

My sister-in-law went to a suburban Catholic high school in Ontario, Canada with student uniforms. A few years ago—so in, like, 2022, say—they had an Adam Sandler-themed “dress-down” day. It was well observed and wildly popular!

I bought a just-about-new 2013 Fit in my twenties because it was cheap. Got married, bought a house, started several new jobs, and had two kids since. Have never been compelled to “upgrade” to a different car. Will be genuinely sad when I eventually have to replace it with something else.

Fair enough! I’m happy to hear he’s better than he’s looked with the national team. It’s hard to get a read on players you don’t follow week-to-week with such limited sample sizes. Any sort of club-based analysis would seem to put DSC miles ahead of Crepeau, but Marsch isn’t convinced? Puzzling.

I defer to your expertise, but, I mean, he’s lost three of three for us without making a save. 🤷‍♂️

Is DSC good at stopping penalties in MLS, then? In the Canada national team fanbase there have been calls to pull *him* (for Crepeau) in shootouts.

I (and many, many others) used to play soccer at Prince Andrew Public School in LaSalle!

Makes sense, thanks! Probably not a wise strategy in MLS, generally, to make a fullback one of your highest paid players?
October 5, 2025 at 3:50 PM
What’s your read on Laryea, generally? Haven’t been able to watch as much TFC as I’d have liked this year, but he’s clearly not been great. But I’ve watched ~every game he’s played for the national team and (according to the eye test, anyway) he’s been consistently very good at that level.

Hmm. Would this suggest the smart adults in the room where responsible for this summer transfer window and Levy was minimally involved? Not super promising if so!

No wonder you get along with the Doughboys so well!

Also Liam Millar! I know he’s been out for ages, so he’s not top of mind, but it’s bit inconceivable he’s first choice next summer.

Dumbfounded. Completely indefensible.

2018 Sportwagen here. So happy we got in under the wire.

Important qualification: You can’t post *actual news from credible news organizations* on Facebook in Canada. You can post whatever other political content you want. I’m not sure the result is a net positive in our favour.

Here’s a fun one: Ontario still has a publicly funded Catholic school board! Where I live, ~half the schools are Catholic. You aren’t allowed to teach there without explicit permission from a priest.

I live in Canada, right on the American border. The millennial condition here (though I think it’s a broader phenomenon) is to use/understand Celsius for cold temperatures and Fahrenheit for warm temperatures. People will actually switch their phone/thermostat settings around this time of year.

Difficult to recall a time when such a list would (rightly!) have no Detroit representation. A remarkable time to be alive.
