I’m sure it’s not scientifically calibrated, but Armstrong (the people who make dropped acoustical ceiling tiles) has a free Armstrong Sound Level app that we use to settle lots of little family debates about sounds in the world.

Honestly, he was most motivated, and it showed. I was sort of waffling between two submissions (Almodovar and Wallace and Gromit), and so he sort of won because we all gave in.

Status update: the apple cake is done and looks great. So dessert is in the bag. The pea soup is simmering. The mushroom/eggplant base for bitterballen is in the freezer; I’m hoping it thickens up. Veg are boiling for the stamppot. And the Mister is rolling out puff pastry for sausage rolls.

We’re not doing meat, so the Stamppot will be on its own. But we’re making Saucijzenbroodjes out of Impossible meat!
