Heading to Tampere with excitement. This year’s theme ”Reclaiming Peace in the Age of Militarism” couldn’t be more topical.

Excellent keynote by Renata Dwan on the Peacemaking in the New World Order -seminar. Few takeaways: When multilateralism is stuck, give room to minilateralism and ad hoc -coalitions, also embracing partial agreements, noting the dangers of forces comprehensiveness (pushing early elections etc).

‪Very interesting closing plenary with radical ideas such as is supporting local cso’s evolved into western cherry picking based on darling agendas, such as 1325 and neglecting the focus on democratic state as a whole. ‬

Professor Swati Parashar keynoting the 2nd Tampere Peace Day. Excellent points among others on deconstructing the critic of liberal peace (also w/ western bias) and on whose peace we talk about and by whom.

SITRAn #eujohtaminen -kurssi jatkuu. Työn alla tiekartta EU:n tulevaisuuteen ja keskusteluissa mm. oikeudenmukainen rauha Ukrainaan ja EU:n paikka oikeusperusteisessa maailmanjärjestyksessä.

Spend a great week at SITRA (a Finnish future fund) course on leadership in EU affairs. Great meetings at the institutions and discussions amongst the participants and the experts we met.

Yesterday I gave a talk at Wider Security Network event in Helsinki, in which I reflected the possible changes in future of #peaceoperations, eg. how the dismantling of #UN multidimensional ops. will effect EU and #CSDP
