A note for my Shudder fans: Watch Arcadian. I can't think of another movie that gave me a such a true jaw-drop moment. There were moments that legit scared me. Also, it's just really stinking great.

Slight spoiler in post 2, but I can’t not marvel about …

I bought the best valentines ever—they take classic movie monsters & make them *adorable*, w punny, relevant sentiments.

Horror friends, who is this??? All I can think of is Frank in Hellraiser, but I dunno how “melt” connects, & let’s be real, that writeup would be “Come to Daddy.”

I have been beyond stuck in my poetry writing. So I turned to form poetry. The rigorous structure and rules somehow trigger creativity. Villanelles are monsters, but UGH, what fun. I don’t think I hate this one???

The second best part about bringing brownies to a thing is everyone going, “Holy crap, these are great!”

The first best part is licking the bowl.

Spent the morning in bed reading. Still at it. Might take myself to a movie later. It’s a day to get lost in stories. Writing and art is an act of defiance. I’m letting myself get lost today.

Lately, my Microsoft Word has been defaulting to "Capitalize first letter of sentences." I have to navigate here to turn this off often. Does anyone know how to correct this glitch where it rechecks itself whenever it wants, which is often? B/c it's super annoying, especially when you write poetry.

Hubs is out with friends tonight & I took myself for a pizza date with my book in the snow. I’m feeling good about my decision-making skills.

True confession: I want to see all your snowscape photos. I will never get sick of them 🥰🥰🥰

Beyond behind on the newest season of Black Mirror. Just caught up on the second ep, the beautiful, ghost town in England one, with Pod from GoT as the bartender? That was one of the most enjoyable hours of contained tv I’ve had in a while. So viby and grabbing and perfect.

King in general, The Conjuring, OG Candyman. What the first two share is heart and sharing horrors that happen to people you love and root for. And Candyman is the movie I saw too young that made me love horror. It’s the high I chase.
#HorrorWritersChat question 4:

Tell us three horror writing inspirations - authors, books, movies, directors, video games

I’m a pretty sunshiny, rosy-glassed gal. Optimistic, cheerful. I looove turning that into darkass shit. It’s fun. And it takes people aback, which is almost as fun as pretending demons are real. Plus, there’s no better way than horror to get into the stuff that *really* makes us tick.
#HorrorWritersChat question 5:

Today is “I Love to Write Day”. Tell us why you love to write horror!

I joined all the Fake Twitters and seem to have turned Bs into Horror Happy Fun Time & Threads into Let’s Poetry. I wish I could say I did that mindfully, but it just sorta happened that way 🤷🏽‍♀️

Wanting to do my best to support the authors & the works I love. Starting (very) periodic video reviews: Soft, Slow, Plenty Rhythm’s up first. It’s for fans of character-driven novels, broken & sympathetic characters, coming of age sweetness … and music 🎺 www.instagram.com/reel/Czri9Yy...

Just finished The Offering on Hulu. Fav horror I’ve seen this year, no question. I love the part in a movie where they research the demon, but this had a totally novel way to get the background: a character is besties with a demon expert, nbd.

Name a more inept, garbage parent than Nancy’s mom in Nightmare on Elm Street.
