I love that it’s basically a British film that was redubbed to make it American. And the British feel comes through. Took me years to even get that it was supposed to be set in the US.

I felt the same about Coppola's Dracula when it came out. I've always hated the Mina/Dracula romance. In the book he basically r*ped her. But I came to really enjoy that movie for the artistry and the love the filmmakers had for their craft. Hell, I'm still waiting for a good War of the Worlds.

Still love that Clive's Frankenstein does a double gainer out of a windmill, gets hit by one of the blades and only ends up with a limp in Bride of Frankenstein.
