I mean what's the harm of primarying him from the left? If the numbers are bad, then fine but if it is closer than he expected maybe he has to react.
I wouldn't expect a challenger to win, LI just gets more shitty every year but this year might at least make him think.

Even if you get a windfall for them they don't bring back their roster utility & extra young NHL ready talent to compete into the future. The problem is that I have no confidence in the front office to conduct a trade and flip assets to make the team younger and better, or develop young talent.

That's obviously true but I don't even think they have any assets on the roster that would bring back NHL ready parts that could fix the holes they currently have. Panarin and Mika are Troch aren't getting younger and they're lynchpins of the team. You trade them to retool you make more holes.
