Fascism is a word that’s thrown around too much in some circles. Whereas other circles would be wise to spend more time studying its allure.

This is a good refresher on what fascism is and how it’s been defined historically.

A Christianity that views personal comfort and “protecting our way of life” as its highest end will inevitably always feel persecuted, and will constantly seek ways to confirm that persecution.

It will fear things God says not to fear and create enemies of those God says to love.

It shouldn’t surprise us that every time a politician tries to play theologian, they end up with a God that aligns with their own partisan ideology.

As humans we constantly try to create God in our own image. But the God of the Bible, the God revealed in the person of Jesus, has so much more for us

One of my favorite tournaments every year. Congrats to Vermont, a program that’s been knocking at the door for a while now. Incredible game and tourney run. #ncaasoccer
This just won Vermont its first national title in any sport and capped a crazy Cinderella run

I pray for revival & a gospel movement in the US. But for that to happen we’re going to have to untether our faith from a cultural/political box, with lines in the sand that the Bible hasn’t drawn. We’ll have to exchange the false hope of “winning” in this life, for Jesus’ call to give up our lives.

When it comes to the Church and any political party, the Church has to be its prophetic voice more than its cheerleader.

Any movement that seeks to leverage the cultural influence of Christianity to attain its political aims deserves to be critiqued by followers of Jesus in ways movements that don’t seek to do that wouldn’t be.
