Wish I had taken that Collier class. Took History of US Diplomacy instead, which was the inverse — should have been History of US Wars. Prof was old and angry. But we found out on the last day of class that he had helped liberate a concentration camp in WWII, so … understandable.

Worlds colliding for me.

Bean, @johnubacon.bsky.social is an amazing author. After you finish this book, read “The Great Halifax Explosion”

John, Mr Baxter is a Hall of Fame broadcaster, and on KROQ in LA was the voice of my commute, and his real love of the Fitz was a running gag for years

Replace “playoff” with “Rose Bowl” and you have every Michigan fan from 1998 to 2006 nodding stoically.

It’s not a trail, but did you know you can run the strand from Torrance to Santa Monica non-stop? There’s even a pedestrian bridge over Marina Del Rey.

Picked my then 1 year old off the bed, took a step back with my left foot and started to crunch a toy on the floor, shifted all of my weight (plus 20lbs of toddler) to my right leg, at a 45 deg angle. Knee went “LOLnope!” Lower leg bent at 90 deg on the wrong axis. Ruptured quad tendon. Fuck knees.

I found @mgoblog.bsky.social in late 2007 during the coaching search that led to RichRod (How did that turn out? Nevermind …) I found EDSBS through MGoBlog. Been reading both religiously ever since. Thank YOU. At $100/year, I feel like I’m taking advantage of you.

Oh, for sure! By FAR the most fun to hang out with. And again, do not engage a trans-oceanic trip with one, unless your life insurance is fully paid up …

I used to sell marine equipment. The dirty secret in the industry is that sailors are NOTORIOUSLY cheap. “They get their fuel for free, and think everything else should be, too!”

They’re way more fun than power boat owners at the bar, on land, during a boat show, but do NOT cross an ocean with one

Mid- 80’s: Gen X are slackers!
Mid- 00’s: Millenials are a nightmare!

Randomly met Jimmy a couple years ago on vacation. Our kids were playing a pick up soccer game together. He could not have been nicer and more down to earth. Just a happy dad living in the Valley.

The funniest part about this @edsbs.bsky.social is that the Japanese katakana writing on the pictured okonomiyaki phonetically spells out, "bo-yo-yoing!!"
