Curious
Just saw Giancarlo Esposito at Twin Cities Comic Con in Minneapolis an hour ago. That guy puts in some miles!

Just watched PRACTICAL MAGIC and the first glimpse of "buttoned up" Sandra Bullock made my girlfriend snort laugh "Oh yeah, what a fucking nerd!"

Great piece! It's very fun to think about it in relation to the features he hadn't made when you intially wrote it.

Love this. This encapsulates my feelings almost exactly. Not the top of Lanthimos's filmography but always extremely watchable.

Wow, I just finished a deep dive into Anthony Mann's Westerns this year and now it feels like this was made for me.

No Dan....YOU are the monster! (I may have misunderstood part of the movie.)

Real talk though: One of the best movies of the year. Absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad I got to see it in a packed theater.

💯 agree! There was a comic book co-created by the Wachowski sisters that imagined a modern day Frankenstein (he takes the name) as an adventurer who fights for the outcasts and dispossessed everywhere. So many possibilities!

I am in a book club where we are reading the entire original Chris Claremont run of X-Men and the sense of possibility and experimentation that the creative teams had is palpable. "Let's see where this goes!"

Added this one to the rotation this year and it slots right in there with the other two you mentioned.

Hits my Halloween sweet spot: Period piece, amazing cinematography, moody music, stacked cast, solid gore and effects.

Not really a hot take but one that doesn't get mentioned: John Bolton's art in the backup stories in Classic X-Men put him in the top tier of X-artists. Great stuff.

Also: Nightcrawler is a swashbuckling, dashing adventurer and the Catholic priest stuff sucks.

Moore handed the title off to Veitch and it continues the storyline. Highly recommended if you enjoy the Moore stuff!
