Arsenal
I’m not suggesting you can buy off the shelf. No one is saying it’s easy to attract and buy the top talent. But the club is out of excuses. Get it done.

Wait a minute. I was told we did too. We had a net zero summer window and then abstained completely in January. How dry must our powder be?

Thoughts on Liverpool being able to take on the massively expensive all-in Wirtz deal (when even City balked) but Arsenal reportedly being unwilling to do a comparatively small (but still v expensive) Rodrygo deal?

Wirtz deal doesn’t bother me but not doing Rodrygo-type deal is very worrisome

I just wish Gyökeres was better in the air. If he had his same profile but was also very strong aerially, I'd be on board. Without that skill, I'm skeptical.

Tim,

My apologies for asking again, but can you please post pre-match bars where Arsenal away fans will be drinking?

Thanks!

1 million percent. Mikel has been getting all the rest decisions right ahead of Madrid first leg but playing Partey at all, let alone his nearly 32 yo legs out of position at RB, is managerial malpractice.

You just saw an elite performance from Thomas after keeping him fresh—don’t get cute.

There’s absolutely nothing in the box. You want to bring it back outside the box for a free kick, fine. But there is nothing in the box but a blatant dive from Harrison.
April 5, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Bro, look at the dive. It’s plain.

You’re in the ultra small minority taking the position that is and should be a pen. Sure it’s not tied to your tribalism 👌
April 5, 2025 at 3:43 PM
Go watch it again. Never in a million years a pen. No contact in the box and the Harrison made the quintessential dive with all the telltale signs, knees jutted forward, feet lifted backwards.
April 5, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Why not play both of them? One at CB and the other at RB?

Against Madrid, I think Timber must play RB if healthy. So much better as a 1-on-1 defender

He ain’t coming back looking like Willian

Man, I do not like Gyok as our big striker signing. Mid AF

Very good point on the Brazil national team and the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

Signing for Saudi club hugely jeopardizes his chances to make, let alone start for Brazil in 2026.
March 19, 2025 at 3:05 PM
Call me naive, but I can’t see a guy with that much passion and competitiveness selling out to an early retirement.

I bet he re-signs with Arsenal and heads to Saudi in summer 2027 or 2028

Ditto for the Lions as a CDIII replacement
March 10, 2025 at 5:31 PM
How is that determined? I'd feel much, much better about trading a third for Carlton if we get a comp pick in 2026
March 10, 2025 at 5:14 PM
Havertz absence is clear
March 9, 2025 at 8:34 PM
Those back-to-back calls were two of the worst I’ve seen, which is saying a lot given the state of B1G officiating.
March 7, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Lions in that Sam role.
February 23, 2025 at 4:35 AM
Really didn’t look like a foul, though
February 22, 2025 at 1:59 AM
That goaltending call against him was absolute BS
February 16, 2025 at 2:50 AM
Good idea. But why not have him do it from Main Street, USA? Go on location and deliver the news to the people outside the DC bubble. Interview people the news would affect.

Don’t make it a press conf. Make it a sales pitch that happens to be a news/entertainment show with direct distribution.

There is also the eye test. Not only do we know that Kai pays “hard” minutes, we saw how physically devastated he’s been at the end of matches. His injury has been in the post.
