Have at last been inducted into the arcane knowledge of where your bike goes on HS1: stand half way along the platform and if the front of the train has these yellow flashes either side of the nose, dash there, otherwise to the last carriage. I guess just really hard to think of a simpler system 😠

Simple, and effective - hard to see why anyone would install something different. But local @sainsburys.bsky.social has these, which no-one uses - so you shove your front wheel in, and then what exactly?
