Bet I know who the 12 percent voted for....
Good grief. Everyone knows they were just friends.

So Trump told Chuck Schumer he'd free up NYC infrastructure funds if Penn Station and Dulles were renamed for Trump. Schumer should counter by offering to rename Saturn if Trump resigns immediately. Just crazy enough to be worth a try.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will be appearing on NBC's Meet the Press tomorrow. To prepare, he's sending the next 14 hours in a sensory-deprivation tank.

Day 3 watching the soon-to-be slimmed-even-further CBS Evening News. Dan Rather used to sign off with a cryptic "Courage" in the 1980s. Tony Dokoupil has updated that to an implied, silent "Cringe."

I've done my duty and watched the Bari Weiss-revamped CBS Evening News (so you don't have to). One thing I'll say for Tony Dokoupil--he's visibly thrilled at his good fortune.

I don't laugh at much in the news lately, but this one got me: "He doesn't like chaos unfolding on his watch." White House source referring to Trump's reaction to ICE activities in Minneapolis. (Quoted on NBC Evening News, Jan. 27, 2026)
January 27, 2026 at 11:39 PM
Reminder: What's happening in Minneapolis in Minneapolis is on John Roberts and the "supreme" court. It's the foreseeable result of putting the president above the law combined with the power to pardon others who violate the Constitution and other laws.

Hey, Jamie Dimon, now that the president is suing you for $5B, have your attorneys file a motion to declare him a vexatious litigant. Please.

If you have to threaten people with violence to gain their support for your ideas, those ideas may not be as wonderful as you think.

ABC leads the evening news tonight with the cold weather hitting the US. In January. On the same day when the stock market dropped due to the potential of a split with Europe over Greenland, the DOJ openly investigating more Democrats, and continuing ICE misdeeds in Minnesota. But weather....

Might be time for non-stop reruns of "The Caine Mutiny."

If only MAGA had known how much it will cost in the end to own the libs.

I have a vacation planned for late April in the UK. "Trip canceled due to hostilities with Europe" didn't appear on my bingo card until today.

Trump's dysfunctional brain operates like a large language model AI: He strings together words on the basis of probability that they will please his MAGA base, but he's hallucinating almost all the time.

How in the world did "We the people" become "I, Trump"?

Maduro tried in the US courts? Won't that require Bondi to get an indictment? Her team seems to struggle with that.
This constitution thing doesn’t make much sense anymore

Always remember, Republicans hate corruption only when they're not getting a cut.

Bari Weiss: "We are not out to score points with one side of the political spectrum...."

Hey, Bari, what about the other side of the spectrum? Are you out to score points with that side?
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

All humans desire relationships where they can be themselves, free of constraints. But I have to say, based on recent evidence, an unconstrained personality can be damn ugly and dangerous.

Now that the Kennedy Center's new name is going onto the physical building, perhaps we could do something similar at the Supreme Court. After all, Trump Supreme Court is a factual label at this point.
December 19, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Hmmm... what's the thread that connects a stock market bubble and GDP growth both fueled solely by investment in AI, higher unemployment, the collapse of construction, and an unexpected drop in inflation? It's beginning to look a lot like a recession has arrived in time for the holidays.

Now that Bari Weiss is in charge and trying to be a journalist, it's truly "See BS."
December 15, 2025 at 3:48 AM
Crazy how the Supreme Court majority consistently rules that the president's Article II powers to faithfully carry out the law are greater than Congress' Article I powers to write the laws.

Nothing says "Weekend at Bernie's" as loudly as this:
Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him directly next to him. Just insane optics.
