One of the worst things about modern media is they seek out the extreme views on any matter in order to provoke outrage. It was far better to have informed debate with genuinely knowledgeable people. I suppose that doesn't make for headlines though. Not sure how the BBC justifies this mind you.

Why do you think that is? I'm baffled that you hardly ever hear criticism or opinions from former senior politicians in the US.

I'm from the UK so can you explain to me why people like Biden, Obama, Clinton, Bush etc don't speak up about this? Ex prime ministers over here do. It seems very strange.
