Most of my xTwitter contacts are Czech but should understand (my) English, so let me try that for now.

I'm rather happy about that; it's bad enough Prašivka is in there (and to claim that Pivoj is free from tourists, who keep wandering in from the hotel across the street, is almost as ridiculous as misplacing Ostrý and Aldersbacher for "Austrian").
Including Sekyrka in EBG at all… well, mind boggles.

Technically, Babel was only GOING to be published in China just around the Worldcon (seems possible they wanted to time it just for it, not sure if they managed). But by a state-owned publisher.

So for completeness' sake:

The last (blue 1979 Bulgarian Andromeda Strain, quite non-generically restrained yet nice, right?) is by Anri Kulev (1949–), a rather important* animation filmmaker

*(but he has a Wikipedia entry only in Bulgarian and, unexpectedly, Italian)

Oops! If one zooms any picture in the post and then uses the navigation arrows, they do indeed go in this order. (Apparently another of Bluesky's features/bugs I was not aware of yet.)

Apologies for any confusion.

Oh! That is, if the counting progresses by columns and not lines as usual.

(I wondered for a time whether Moneta is mentioned as heavily tattooed, and the figure in the back supposed to be Col. Kassad, and what limited edition this might have been. Only then did I scroll to the bottom pictures…)

Bit more seriously: I LOVED freebie books at London 2014 (though was scooped from some I especially desired, unprepared to lug them all day with me).

& Fan Village was not bad, at least as the idea expressed upthread (esp. compared to Helsinki and Dublin's venue/overcrowding problems), if noisy.

Glasgow 2005; (but?) simply because it was my 1st, and I was young.

(At the opening(?) theremin concerto some kind fan struck conversation how a newbie from faraway feels and I couldn't help blurting "It's like dying and coming to heaven.")

(Of course I got a Stendhal syndrome couple days later.)

Yes, the very left bottom of the #4 (below "animal detective story") says "artist: Mariya Muravski" (Мария Муравски), fantlab.ru/art14837

#3 (here) = Joska Skalník (1948, sorry, bungled year on xTwitter). Important artsy graphic (run cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joska_S... thru AI trans), did brief SF line by State's most hibrow publisher as absurdly artsy & w. cookie-cutter central motif, nicknamed "puked-over head" by rocket-loving fandom.

Thank you very much for the welcome (and, if I surmise right. even the invite code? I couldn't find the giver's real-name here). I shall do my best to follow and even respond if and when I feel I have something relevant to ad. (Dammit, forgot to link my perzine either in the profile or a post).
